Special Ops Child Watch · Service area

Serving Washington, DC

About 15 minutes from Clinton via I-295 North, with additional time planned for events at venues north of the Mall or during peak evening traffic.

Washington, DC sits about 15 minutes north of Clinton via I-295, and it is the most active corridor for the kind of formal military events Special Ops Child Watch was built to support. Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling sits where the Anacostia River meets the Potomac, and SOCW has staffed events there, including single-parent and marriage retreats organized through base family programs. Hotel ballrooms running from the Capitol Riverfront to the neighborhoods north of the Mall, Navy Yard venues, and on-installation clubs across the District pull together the largest and most formal military event calendar in the country. The concentration of service branch headquarters, joint commands, and Pentagon leadership in the DC corridor means event coordinators here are planning functions where every detail of execution reflects directly on the unit.

Including Anacostia, Navy Yard, Southwest Waterfront, Capitol Hill and the surrounding area.

Washington questions

Can Special Ops Child Watch staff events on Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling?

Yes. SOCW has staffed events at JBAB, and every team member carries the background checks and credentials that on-installation access requires. Reach out as early as possible so we can coordinate base access paperwork well ahead of your event date.

Our unit's military ball is at a hotel in the District, not on base. Do you cover off-installation venues?

Yes. Special Ops Child Watch staffs events at hotels, conference centers, and ballrooms throughout DC, not only on-base facilities. The same staff ratios, sign-in and sign-out protocols, USDA-approved snack buffet, and Inclusion Staff coverage apply at any venue. Submit a booking request with your venue, expected child count, and event date and we will put together a quote.

How far in advance should I book for a DC military event?

DC ball season and the holiday party window fill quickly. We recommend reaching out as soon as your event date is confirmed. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 12:30 PM Eastern. Call +1 202-702-2486 or submit a booking inquiry online and we will respond promptly.

My children had a great night! My oldest knew exactly where to go when he saw Pilot the Eagle sitting outside the event and ran right in. They had fun and begged to go back when we left. It was so nice to know they were not far away and well taken care of during our event.

All the keepsakes for my child to remember her time at the event were PLENTY. My child doesn't usually do well in new settings, BUT upon pickup she didn't even want to LEAVE!

Acquiring SOCWS was SEAMLESS. The PREPAREDNESS was quite IMPRESSIVE. They utilized the space well and reset it to the initial state without a problem.

The service provided to my child versus the price paid per child far EXCEEDED my expectations.
