Military Ball Child Watch

Military balls are formal occasions where presence matters. SOCWS runs a fully themed child watch room right alongside the event — staffed by background-checked, CPR-certified providers, with age-appropriate activities, take-home keepsakes, and an unlimited USDA-approved snack buffet. Event coordinators get a team that shows up prepared, works the space efficiently, and resets it clean at the end of the night.

02

Military Retreat Child Watch

Dedicated on-site child watch for military retreats, so families can attend every session without splitting the day or arranging outside childcare.

03

Conference and Symposium Child Watch

Professional on-site child watch for military conferences and symposiums, so every family in attendance can participate fully without childcare gaps.

How it works

What to expect

01

Coordinator Inquiry

The Event Coordinator or Point of Contact reaches out to SOCWS with event details, including type, date, venue, and estimated number of children attending.

02

Contracting and Staffing Plan

SOCWS contracts with the Event Coordinator and staffs the event based on the agreed number of children. Every event is staffed to maintain safe supervision ratios throughout.

03

Parent Registration

Once the event is booked, parents of attending children register their children through SOCWS. Registration collects allergy information, authorized pickup contacts, and any special needs.

04

Day-of Setup and Event

SOCWS arrives early, sets up the themed children's space, welcomes kids at sign-in, and runs activities and the USDA-approved snack buffet for the duration of the event.

05

Sign-out and Space Reset

At the end of the event, SOCWS manages sign-out for all children and resets the space to its original condition, with no extra work required from the venue or coordinator.

  1. 1

Your Event Coordinator or Point of Contact handles booking on behalf of your unit or organization. Individual parents do not book directly.

  2. 2

Once the event is confirmed, parents register their children through SOCWS. At registration, provide allergy information and the names of authorized pickup adults.

  3. 3

No outside food is needed. SOCWS provides a full USDA-approved unlimited snack buffet. Infants may bring labeled formula, breast milk, or snacks with first and last name and date written on each item.

  4. 4

On the day of the event, sign your child in at the SOCWS table. Enjoy your event. SOCWS will contact you if anything comes up, and your child will only be released to an authorized adult at sign-out.

My children had a great night! My oldest knew exactly where to go when he saw Pilot the Eagle sitting outside the event and ran right in. They had fun and begged to go back when we left. It was so nice to know they were not far away and well taken care of during our event.

All the keepsakes for my child to remember her time at the event were PLENTY. My child doesn't usually do well in new settings, BUT upon pickup she didn't even want to LEAVE!

Acquiring SOCWS was SEAMLESS. The PREPAREDNESS was quite IMPRESSIVE. They utilized the space well and reset it to the initial state without a problem.

Who we are

About Special Ops Child Watch

When one parent's son spotted Pilot the Eagle outside the venue, he ran straight in and begged to go back on the way home. That's what April Dingle and La'Taya Brown built when they launched Special Ops Child Watch in 2023: a fully themed, staffed, and safety-vetted child experience that runs right alongside your event so you can actually be present at it. April brings 20 years in military childcare and La'Taya holds a bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education and a decade of service across multiple bases. Both are licensed USAF Family Child Care Providers, and every staff member they bring passes a thorough background check and holds First Aid and CPR certification before working any event. Kids get themed activities, keepsakes, and a USDA-approved unlimited snack buffet. Event coordinators get a team that shows up prepared, uses the space well, and resets it clean when it's done.
